Der Muffin-Lieferdienst
ROLE
Intern Designer / QA
at Flying Sheep Studios GmbH
DESCRIPTION
Der Muffin-Lieferdienst is an action game for a kid's animated series, Angelo Rules. It’s a game where players throw cupcakes at various targets to score as many points as possible while the speed gets faster.
Although I was an intern, I could draft its value table, set up many detail mechanics, and even design the environment. Not to mention that I can do quality assurance, too.
Balance / Level Design / QA
As an intern at Flying Sheep, I drafted the value table, which involved fine-tuning the camera position, the size of each module, and the speed and acceleration that players have, as well as other game mechanics. This helped ensure that the game was both challenging and fun for players.
I also estimated the final score players might gain and created a fake player with its equation, so players would feel like they are competing with someone in real time.
In addition to designing the game mechanics, I also had a hand in creating the game's world. Specifically, I was responsible for arranging the houses and objects on the sidewalk. This included a combination of static and moving objects that players would encounter as they progressed through the game.
One of my key contributions to the game's design was placing objects perpendicular to the player's moving direction, which added an extra layer of challenge and made the game more enjoyable overall.
